Last Saturday we had a great time catering Eastwick schools' PTA summer party at Effingham Rugby Club. We served Jerk chicken, prawn jambalaya, flat breads and a Jamaican style slaw with lime and honey.

Lovely Claire, who organised the event, was kind enough to send the following feedback:

Hi Rich,
I wanted to say thank you for the brilliant catering on Saturday. Everyone was waxing lyrical about how good it was. Really delicious!
I made sure people took the leftover tray bake pudding too and I had the last brownie last night!  It was delicious! I picked up the savoury leftover too, I hate food waste!
Really great to have you again and so easy and simple to work with you.
Hopefully our paths cross again.

Thanks so much Claire and everyone who attended for creating such a fun event. I greatly look forward to working with you again in the future.

We are happy to tell you we've now cemented the finer details for our pop up brunch & coffee tasting event!!

As you'll have clocked from our last post, we're holding it with the fantastic Chimney Fire Coffee at Sutton Community Farm.

Join us on 11th August

The event will kick off at 9am on 11th August. As our guest you will receive a guided tour of the Sutton Community Farm to find out about the work they do. Next you'll be treated to brunch cooked by myself, Richard, using gorgeous seasonal produce sourced straight from the farm. After brunch, we'll finish with a coffee tasting with Dan to learn all about his work and the coffee.

On the menu

  • Organic yogurt pots with local honey, oats and a raspberry, rhubarb and nasturtium compote.

  • Blackbird bakery toasted sourdough topped with roasted farm tomatoes, Turkish style aubergine and local goats cheese.

  • Farm vegetable and potato frittata made with veg box eggs, topped with Sutton community farm mixed leaves, roasted pepper and an herb dressing.

  • Lots of delicious coffee!

The stunning venue

Sutton Community Farm's is situated on a beautiful 7.1 acre smallholding with views towards the skyline of central London, making it the perfect backdrop for our event.

The pop up will be a fantastic opportunity to sample their VegBox service, which delivers fresh, seasonal vegetables all over South London.

Last year over 17 tonnes of veg was grown on the 7 acre farm in Wallington, South London to go into the VegBoxes.

Crops include favourites like tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach and kale and also more unusual and colourful vegetables such as rainbow chard and cavolo nero.

The flexible, convenient service allows customers to order a seasonal selection, or to order specific items to be delivered to their door.

Additional vegetables and fruit, sourdough and eggs are sourced from other suppliers. Income from the VegBox service supports the community owned farm to provide volunteering opportunities, educational visits and land based employment.

Chimney Fire Coffee

Chimney Fire Coffee operates from a converted stables with a 15kg small-batch roaster in the Surrey Hills, and offers a range of single origins and espresso blends to coffee connoisseurs across the country.

You'll be in for a real treat at our pop up, getting to taste their full repertoire and hearing all about the beans and where they've come from .
