We’re excited to announce we will be hosting a pop up brunch & coffee tasting event with Chimney Fire Coffee at Sutton Community Farm later this year.

Chimney Fire Coffee was founded in 2016 by Dan who has several years experience working in coffee and cocoa traceability, having lived and worked across Africa.

Chimney Fire Coffee operates from a converted stables with a 15kg small-batch roaster in the Surrey Hills, and offers a range of single origins and espresso blends to offices, cafes and online subscribers, as well as hosting regular coffee experiences.

We will be holding our pop up event at the Sutton Community Farm, a community-owned farm started in 2010 in response to a community need.

The farm's purpose is to increase access to fresh, healthy, sustainable food and provide a shared space for people to cultivate skills, get exercise and make new friends.

Situated on a beautiful 7.1 acre smallholding with views towards the skyline of central London, it will make the perfect backdrop for our event.

Our pop up event

As our guest you will receive a guided tour of the farm to find out about the work they do. Next you'll be treated to brunch cooked by myself, Richard, using gorgeous seasonal produce sourced straight from the farm. After brunch, we'll finish with a coffee tasting with Dan to learn all about his work and the coffee.

If you'd be interested in joining us for brunch, pop an email to info@freerangecooks.co.uk to let me know.

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of cooking a Christening lunch for a lovely family in Wimbledon, London.

Maryam has kindly left me the following fabulous review over on my Add to Event page;

"Richard from Free Range Cooks cooked for us for a family lunch. His food was absolutely amazing, made with immense care and attention and was seasoned to perfection. He was very professional, looked after us all so well and left the kitchen cleaner than before he had arrived. I couldn't recommend him more highly." Maryam

On the menu:

  • Kent oyster mushroom and parmesan choux bun with truffle honey

  • Hand dived scallops with cauliflower, hazelnut and Granny Smith apple

  • Torched cod loin with confit jersey royals and samphire

  • Chocolate delice with salted brioche crumb and malted cream

If you would like to celebrate a special occasion such as a Christening, Anniversary or Birthday in Surrey, Sussex, London or Hampshire with fantastic food cooked at your home, do get in touch! I can be contacted on 07793 356131 and info@freerangecooks.co.uk.

As you may have clocked from our recent blogs, Facebook and Instagram posts, we've been doing quite a bit of late with a great local company called The Drunken Mouse.

These marvellous Surrey caterers specialise in wine, local cheese and local charcuterie,

"Putting you at the center of unique experiences in cheese and wine"

The Drunken Mouse have hunted out, tried and tested the very best locally sourced cheeses to pair up with their hand selected wines to bring about a culinary experience that can't be repeated.

AND the exciting bit is, we’ll be working together to bring you some pop up events throughout the spring and summer!

But that's not all.

We’ve also masterminded a splendid dinner party offering where we will come to your house (or venue) and produce a meal you won't forget.

Free Range Cooks will prepare the snack, starter and main and The Drunken Mouse will be in charge of the local cheese, dessert and matching wine flights - as well as bestowing insights about each wine.

With a minimum of 20 guests we will supply your boutique event at £55 per head.

If this is something you'd like to hear more about, do give me (Richard) a call on 07793 356131 or email info@freerangecooks.co.uk.
